Interview with Max Ruttenberg, president of Lehigh University's Gaming Club.
On Saturday afternoon I (Connor Tait) attended the Gaming Club's weekly meeting and caught up with its president, Max Ruttenberg,'14. The Gaming Club, formerly the Board Game Club, has been expanding this year as more people are showing up each week to play their favorite games. The ambience of the meetings is casual and the members are very welcoming to game lovers or players of any skill level.
In terms of photographing, I found it somewhat difficult to take different kinds of shots since the club members were sitting in the same spot. This led me to focus on capturing the emotion in peoples faces as they were playing their game as opposed to just taking landscape shots of the entire meeting area. The close-up shots were fun to take because the boards have a lot of color and peoples hands look interesting when they move pieces around.I thought the iPhone (which I used for every picture) excelled in the close-ups, but was slightly weaker in the mid-shots, probably because the lighting in the room was bright.
Overall I enjoyed this project and I hope some of you go check out the Gaming Club Saturday's in Grace Dining on the second floor of the University Center.
